FAQ's
1. Why should I join Red Alert?
-
Team Red Alert is a great way to spread school spirit and meet new people while cheering Miami's athletic teams to victory. IT'S PART OF YOUR COLLEGE EXPERIENCE! We're all proud of our school and excited to help our teams win by supporting their achievements and creating a home site advantage that is unique to Miami University. Additionally, you receive awesome benefits just for attending games.
2. If I forgot my HawkCard, can I still get loyalty credit?
-
You MUST have your HawkCard to scan into games. Otherwise, we will not be able to scan you into the system. Either your regular card or keycard can be scanned.
3. I lost my HawkCard. Can I get a new one?
-
If you've lost your HawkCard, you must purchase a new one for $3 in order to receive benefits, reward points and enjoy exclusive events.
4. I was at last week's game. Can I get credit for it today?
-
You must scan in with your HawkCard at the event to receive credit.
5. What are the eligible athletic events where I can score loyalty points?
-
As a Red Alert member you can score loyalty points by getting your HawkCard scanned at the promotion table at home Miami varsity volleyball, field hockey, football, soccer, ice hockey, men's and women's basketball, baseball and softball contests. PLUS...you can score double points at any varsity athletic event where Miami is taking on our Battle of the Bricks' rival Ohio University! Points may also be given at select Red Alert Events.
6. Does my loyalty credit roll over from year to year?
-
You will have the chance to renew your membership for the next year in the spring. However all scoring is based on the fiscal school term and everyone returns to zero at the start of the new academic calendar. Each member is then able to earn more prizes as they rebuild their loyalty levels the following year. Each year members also receive new T-shirts and member items.
7. What if I go to 2 events in one day? Will I get 2 credits? What about double headers?
-
Each game is a separate event, regardless of the date. If you go to a women's basketball game in the afternoon and stick around for the men's game at night, you can receive 2 separate scans. If you go to a baseball doubleheader and are scanned at both games, you'll receive 2 credits.
8. How do I know what level I am at?
-
You can check the scoreboard on the website, www.MiamiRedAlert.com or ask the Red Alert member when you are scanned into events.
9. What if I didn't receive prizes for a loyalty level I have already passed?
-
Either visit the Miami University Athletics Room 206 in Millett Hall or let the Red Alert Member scanning HawkCards at the next event know that you haven't yet received a certain prize level you've achieved so you can still get your earned rewards.
10. Where do we scan in at games?
-
Look for the Red Alert Kiosk or table when scanning in at games. Pictures of these locations for the various sports can be found on the Scan-in Locations page of this website.
11. How do we get our rewards?
-
Rewards will be mailed to you throughout the year as you earn them or they can be picked up at the Red Alert Kiosk or table at any of the sporting events.
If you have questions, feel free to e-mail MiamiRedAlert@yahoo.com or call the Miami University Athletics Office at 529-1700.
